Language. Stance. Effect.
To work with language means, for me, to support people in recognising their own possibilities — and in putting them to use.
Studied linguistics, author, former university lecturer, Master Trainer and Master Coach DVNLP (the German Association for NLP), internationally certified Mediation Trainer (D.A.C.H.).
Trained, among others, with Dr Gunther Schmidt in communication psychology and neuro-systemic organisational consulting. Together with Andreas Heyer, I have led the Kompetenzzentrum für lösungsfokussierte Prozesse (Centre for Solution-Focused Processes) in Bad Homburg since 1993.
How I work
What fascinates me most about NLP — and what is also the hardest — is the respectful stance and the affirming view of human beings. Fascinating because everything in me agrees with it. Difficult because in daily life it slips out of focus so quickly.
All experience is the result of where attention is placed. True — and yet how often I find myself slipping into feeling like a victim of "others" or "circumstances". It is also exhausting to be so aware, everywhere and always.
The meaning and effect of a message is determined by the receiver. This is not a licence to be careless. It is a reminder that communication is a reciprocal act, not a linear one.
So: do not ask "Why". Ask "What for". The question "Why" points to cause and effect. In human interaction it leads to questions of blame and justification — and justification is, at its heart, a small act of war. "What for" turns attention to meaning and possibility.
And perhaps the most important sentence: every problem is a solution to some other goal. Whoever takes this seriously is no longer fighting the problem — they are looking for the underlying need.
Andreas and the team
Andreas Heyer is my partner, both in work and in life. Together we have led the Kompetenzzentrum since 1993. He is Master Trainer DVNLP, Master Coach DVNLP and Master Mediator DVNLP, with particular focus on mediation coaching, NLP training, and seminar concept development.
Together with Stephanie Heuser and Laura Gleichmann we form a team of four trainers and coaches, each speaking from many years of their own practice.
Languages
I work in German and English. Coaching and mediation engagements can be delivered fully in English. The NLP Practitioner, NLP Master and Coaching training programmes are delivered in German only — they are recognised under German educational standards (DVNLP) and require a German-language working environment.
